Everytime I entered her room to clean the litter box, sweep the floor and wipe the table she would always climb up wanting to hug and be held tightly. While holding her in my arms she had a special way of rubbing her head against my face.It was her unique way of displaying affection.
She was one of the senior cats at the sanctuary. In human years she would've been over 80 years old. She lived a very long and full life.
People who have visited the sanctuary remember Miki for her incredible warmth and friendliness. She was the kind of cat that would walk right up to a stranger and try to sit on their lap or climb on their shoulders.
She was brought to the sanctuary over 15 years ago by a group who was looking for a permanent home for her. Even though we were full at the time we made room for her. She has been here since then and has touched so many lives. One visitor had this to say about her experience with Miki: " She is really sweet! There's a lot we can learn from her".
I agree. She exuded pure, unconditional Love all the time with everyone she encountered.
She will be greatly missed.
Until we meet again at the Rainbow Bridge
RIP Miki🖤

CAT OF THE MONTH
Meet Subu

Subu wondered into our area about 5~6 years ago from the mountains located behind the
sanctuary. She was skinny, young and would show up every day to eat. After some time she became comfortable and we began to build a bond. Lucky for her there was a room available and that's how she got to the sanctuary.
She can be a little skittish at times, but there are other times where she will let me pet her. She loves neck rubs and soaking up the sun out on the balcony.
