Hello everyone!
Iām Lia, the Nekoten House blog writer.
Last week, I had the chance to visit the sanctuary and meet Sachiko, Miyuki, and all the lovely cats in their care. It was a wonderful experience to finally see the space where the cats live and are so lovingly looked after.

I witnessed firsthand the dedication Sachiko and Miyuki put into ensuring the catsā well-being. The cats are thoughtfully grouped according to their needs and personalities. Every room has its own backyard or veranda, allowing the cats to enjoy fresh air. Some spaces feature vertical areas for climbing and hidingāperfect for curious or shy cats.

Elderly (like Miki-chan) or special-need cats are kept in climate-controlled rooms to ensure their comfort. Everywhere I looked, I saw thoughtful details and well-maintained spaces that reflect how much care and effort go into running Nekoten House.
Needless to say, the catsāeach with their unique charmāare absolutely beautiful and adorable! I especially enjoyed spending time with Miki-chan, a sweet elderly cat who loves gentle scratches (as you can see in the photo!).

During my visit, I met most of the cats and took lots of photos to share their feline beauty with the world. I also helped out with some weeding in the garden, which has flourished a bit too much due to the rainy season.
Since Nekoten House was founded over 13 years ago, some of the wooden structures have become worn due to weather. Garden upkeep also requires significant time and effort. Recently, things have become more challenging since the washing machine broke, making daily maintenance harder.

Thatās why your supportāwhether itās donating, sending supplies using theĀ wishlist, helping with daily care, contributing to repairs, or volunteering your timeāis so valuable. Every bit of help makes a difference in keeping Nekoten House running and giving these cats the loving home they deserve.
Thank you for reading and supporting Nekoten House!
