October & November News!šŸ‚

Hello NekoTen Family,

Here's what happened in October & November

In October a stray outdoor mama cat left her kittens behind. She was ill and it appeared her body was no longer producing milk. It got to a point where nursing them became painful and it was causing her a lot of discomfort. Luckily we had a kitten nursing kit that a volunteer donated to the sanctuary a while back and it came in really handy.Ā Ā

You've got to be kitten me! (Enjoy the ASMR)

Feeding them with a milk bottle has taken up a lot of time, but it has been rewarding, cute and funny to watch because sometimes they act as though they have never seen milk before.

As you can see in the photo below they bit off the nipple and I've already gone through several replacements.

We purchased a kitten nurser bottle at a local store, but because of the different nipple shape/size they didn't latch on.

They are still being fed with a milk bottle, but we are down to the last nipple.Ā

If anyone has an extra PetAg brand nipple replacement please let us know.

It has been purr joy to watch them grow and see their personalities shine.Ā

Talk about cuteness overload!Ā Enjoy the adorable photos!

In November we received some cat food donations. We want to take a moment to extend a BIG Thank you to our donors.Ā

Special thanks to:

  • Tara for the 3-box set Mitsuboshi Gourmet cat treats.

  • Lia for the box of cat and human food

We are immensely Grateful for your support and generosity. Thank you so much!

CAT OF THE MONTHĀ

Meet Wakame

~Wakame~
~Wakame~

Wakame is one of the senior cats and the sanctuary has been her home for a long time. In the last blog post Miwa was featured and I mentioned there is a cat who is very close with her. Wakame and Mia are best friends. They play together. They sleep together. They are always together!Ā

When Wakame first arrived she had to get spayed. Someone had recommended an individual to perform the procedure and sadly it ended up being a botched surgery. As a result she suffers all kinds of never-ending health issues, skin irritation and allergies. Despite what she went through she is very resilient, radiates such a sweet personality and lives a great life filled with so much love. She enjoys playing with cat wands, sitting on my lap and purring.Ā

If you'd like to send her some treats or food for the holidays please consider making a donation.Ā
